I went to Brisbane for the Ultimate Development Camp on the weekend just gone, weak and tired, not even managing to make the entire first day's worth of exercises and drills. I stopped and rested at around 2pm for the remainder of the day. I managed to last all of Sunday but was having serious trouble keeping my eyes open on the drive home from the airport that night. The weekend was good, presenting new points and tactics for both individual and team offense and defence. I've not written any thing down yet, but that should be done because there were some good points that wouldn't naturally come to a player.
So with that training just gone there's a new tournament to look forward to - Halibutt, also up in Brisbane. I managed to pick up with a team based in Melbourne, but I'll have to get better soon and get my arse into fitness gear cause at this rate I'll barely be able to make the fields, let alone play for two days AND party in the middle...
The major problem that I'm currently facing with any form of "training" or even just "physical motion" is that I'm exchausted by the time 7pm rocks around just in the normal routine of a day. There has to be some serious rest before I can be normal again - but that's just about out the window already anyway, with climbing training planned for thursday night and the weekend expected to see me meeting up with some Melbourne friends in the blue mountains for climbing.
But as always, everything with me is always a plan, and this time will be no different, a plan on how to recover and return to my former fitness in as short a period of time as possible - but if I ever put a plan into action that would be a real milestone in itself. And so along with the Ultimate fitness training I have to start climbing training again. The one major positive to come out of this sickness is that with 6kg of muscle all but gone from my old stature, all my training can be directed at regaining those 6kg in just the right spots to make the perfect climber physique... here's hoping!
